Title: Nightly Nature
Posted On: 2014-06-09 18:11:04 UTC
In the company of wolves Feel the mildew on my skin Here I yell out to the Gods Look them in the eyes, as I've forgot Feel the wind blow through my fingers The smell of bears and eagles linger Walking nimbly atop the leaves The closest DNA in trees Their warning for safety is my dinner With my crossbow made from splinters I listen and smell for moving steaks I target the trophy, for I'm a winner I eat with company If I run, they run with me At sunset, they lead me to the current Without rods, for them, I go fishing I rinse my eyes in hopes each day to see the next To see my furry family and sunsets I feel my skin cooling, we gather by a tree Huddle with the pack, rustling through leaves We travel through the night as owls and planes As running is difficult, I bump in nature's tallest frame To reach the hills, I sing a song about writings on the walls As they collect for the melody in their howl of a call
